Raising True Meat Goats: A Commitment to Quality and Adaptability

We are Austin and Lacy Pruitt, proud owners of a centennial farm located in the southwest region of Oklahoma. Our farm is not just a piece of land; it's a testament to the generations of hard work, resilience, and dedication that our family has poured into it. Here, alongside our children, Silver and Rowdy, we have embarked on a mission to raise exceptional livestock.

Our farm has been in the Pruitt family for over a hundred years, passing down through the generations. The connection we feel to the land and our livestock is something we cherish deeply. While our ancestors primarily focused on cattle farming, we have expanded our operations to include Savanna goats. Grazing these hardy and agile Savanna goats alongside our cattle in the pastures has proven to be a perfect balance of nature's harmony. This unique combination not only enhances the ecological diversity of our land but also brings about a myriad of benefits to both the animals and our farm as a whole. The goats' natural foraging habits help control the growth of unwanted vegetation, reducing the need for manual labor and costly herbicides. Additionally, their presence has a positive impact on our cattle, as they instinctively graze on different plants, preventing overgrazing and ensuring a rich and nutritious pasture for all. The coexistence of these two species truly exemplifies the symbiotic relationship between animals and nature, showcasing the magic that happens when biodiversity and thoughtful agriculture intertwine. Sustainability lies at the heart of our farming practices. We employ environmentally friendly techniques to minimize our impact on the land. At Pruitt Farms, our commitment to sustainable agriculture is reflected in our meticulous farming practices. As part of our dedication to preserving the health of our land, we have chosen to embrace the use of organic fertilizers. At Pruitt Farms, we spread nutrient-rich goat manure each year to enhance the soil's fertility. Our belief in sustainable farming not only extends to the health of our land but also to the well-being of our livestock and ultimately to the satisfaction of our valued customers.

Our Mission: Integrity and Quality

At Pruitt Farms, our mission is centered around maintaining the integrity of the South African Savanna goats while producing high-quality meat goats. We are committed to providing healthy, hardy, and parasite-tolerant animals to our customers. Through careful selection and breeding, we constantly strive to improve the genetic traits of our Savanna goats.
Ensuring the adaptability, resilience, and amazing phenotypes of our goats is of utmost importance to us. We believe that livestock should possess the ability to excel in any environment, paying homage to the true nature of these animals. By incorporating advanced agricultural practices, we nurture our goats' health and well-being, ensuring they are well-equipped to face the challenges posed by different climates.

At Pruitt Farms, we value the relationships we have built with our customers and the wider agricultural community. We understand that trust is paramount when it comes to delivering the best livestock. We actively collaborate with other breeders, sharing knowledge and expertise, to collectively raise the standards of the industry. By fostering this sense of community, we hope to contribute to the success and growth of all Savanna breeders.

As we continue our journey at Pruitt Farms, we remain steadfast in our commitment to raising true meat goats that possess the ability to survive in all climates, while maintaining the integrity of the South African Savanna.
